Glenda's story

I qualified as an Accountant in the early Nineties whilst juggling studying, working and bringing up two small children. Soon after I qualified I started my own practice in rural Norfolk. This developed over 10 years and by 2000 I had a successful business with a prestigous office in Norwich City Centre and more than 100 clients.

A car accident in 2002 meant I had to refocus aspects of my life and led to a decision to sell the business and move to Spain to take a break from Accountancy. My husband and I started a successful horse riding holiday business in rural Spain overcoming many challenges including raising funds and dealing with Government bodies in a new language. We sold this business after a few years and I returned to working in Accountancy.

After more than 10 years working in Gibraltar and Spain for a Family Office I set up my own practice again focussing on expats in Spain. This business has now split into 2 - GJS International Tax focussing on expats and International Tax strategies and this business 3B Consultancy and Accountancy servicing UK companies and individuals. Many expats have interests in both countries and it makes sense for one person to have visibility and handle both, that is where I have my strength.
